Yes, the time of celebrating our independence is once again upon us. But how much should we really celebrate? I mean, yes we are independent. We did get away from that awful and imposing government of Brittan. But think if we would have stayed. Would it really be so bad? I mean, we have our independence, but that’s kind of like saying, well yes that 16 year old girl has her independence after the emancipation, it’s independence, but is it for the best. She’s more than likely not responsible enough to use that independence. Well that’s probably a bad example, because at fist, when our country was just a baby, we did things pretty well. I agree with most of what the United States of America was about. But that was ever so long ago. The “New America” is nothing to celebrate in my opinion. It’s nothing like the U.S.A. I read about in text books. There is very little freedom, actually in many ways that big (well small) country we became independent from is more free than we are.
Also, 233 years ago, if they were taxed and controlled like we are, what do you think they would have done? If they had their freedom limited as we do, what do you think they would have done. I have an idea of what they would have done. It goes to words they say, and how they talk about it being our right to change the government if it becomes corrupt. I am sure that if our founding fathers were to see this government I live in, they would agree that it is corrupt. They would stage a California Gas Party (the new age Boston Tea Party). They would wonder why this government gets all of this money and still remains broke. They would also wonder why they refuse to cut many funds that would help them get out of this vast debt that it has allowed its self to be in. They would also wonder why other funds were being cut, funs that are beneficial to the majority…I mean after all, if this were just 60 years ago I’m willing to bet the red hunters would suspect every member of the California Government. Oh, I would love to see those trials!
So, back to the point. When you are celebrating our independence, just stop to think, is this something to celebrate right now? Shouldn’t we be morning the death of what America was?
